The sample comprises 10 ASEAN member countries from the over the period 1970-2010. Using panel cointegration analysis, this paper finds that gender inequality is negatively associated with per capita GDP growth. On the other hand, the average year of schooling shows the significantly positive impact on economic growth. In terms of economic policy, the results suggest policymakers to focus on educational policies which may reduce educational inequalities, especially for men. In the case of women, the policy that encourages women to participate in economic activities could play a role in alleviating inequalities.
